It’s just a game from when we were kids, but once we grow up, we keep following leaders. Because that’s what leaders are for—to lead us. We follow leaders, because we believe they’ll lead us to where we want to go. Or if we are leaders, we lead, hopefully because we want to help people get from A to B. We want to take them somewhere. A large part of life is about who you’re following. And where they’re taking you.
We all know that when we are faced with a decision between right or wrong, we first weigh our choices between the punishment we’ll receive or the joy we’ll experience when doing the wrong thing. It’s not a matter of what is right and what is wrong for us. It’s a matter of what actions will bring us the most joy. Will disobeying the word of the Lord lead to any significant consequence?
